If you are looking for roofers in Coeur d’Alene, look no further! This roof from the early 1990s in a great CDA neighborhood is ready for renewal. There is tons of of granule loss, and despite it being an architectural-style shingle roof, it has a lot of slipping and blow off.

A substantial amount of moss is present on the underside of the shingle rows, which may trap moisture and create problems on the roof deck. The chimney is also due for new flashing that is less likely to leak in the future.

This is one of our first times using Epilay Plystik Plus ice shield, and we love it so far! At the time of application, you can tell that this product has much better adhesive and overall composition. The homeowner is getting a product that will do a much better job sealing their roof! This will protect from heavy ice and leaking on eaves, in valleys and at roof-to-wall intersections. A chalk line is used in the valley to ensure things come out straight during the install.

To be as thorough as possible, we over-build all side walls with one piece of metal step flashing for every row of shingles. This will allow water to shed off the roof with decreased likelihood of a leak during heavy rain or snow melt.

The new roof has a California-style valley – after installing ice shield and valley metal, the right (lower / less steep) deck is run through the valley, followed by a vertical bleeder row and the left (higher / steeper) deck. These look great and are less likely to leak than a regular woven valley.

Rather than re-installing can vents, we cut a new slot along the ridge and installed CertainTeed Shinglevent II to add circulation to the roofing system. It’s all hand-nailed, looks great and will cool the attic much better than the existing setup.

All new custom chimney counter-flashing is installed. Doing it this way reduced the number of gaps on the chimney flashing and it looks great. On the backside of the chimney, we’ve built a new cricket to divert water that would have been backed up behind it.

All pipe flashings, stem vent flashings and B-vent flashings have been replaced and secured with a leak-proof gasketed screw.

The new roof line. The ‘Moire Black’ color of the Landmark shingle by CertainTeed has brought the home up-to-date with a sleek look.

The old roof made it through one last winter, and was installed just in time for a rainy Spring. Our roofing systems our built to last 30+ years and are always covered by our New Heights Roofing Workmanship Guarantee.
